Enable Biosciences Clinical Reference Lab Receives Approval to Operate in Maryland

Enable Biosciences Clinical Reference Lab, a CLIA- and CAP- certified facility based in South San Francisco, has been approved by the Maryland Department of Health to receive and test specimens from patients located in Maryland.

Enable Biosciences had previously operated in 47 states, excluding Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York due to local policies restricting out-of-state labs from receiving and testing samples. This announcement will allow for individuals in Maryland to participate in Enable-supported testing programs like T1Detect, a nationwide program for determining the risk for type 1 diabetes.

“This is a great vote of confidence in the quality of the clinical lab. We are pleased to be able to extend our highly-rated clinical services to the residents of Maryland.” said Lynette Sawyer, Lab Director for Enable Biosciences.
